Sunday NYR vs Flyers, who's going?

Going to be going to my first ever NYR game @ MSG this Sunday since I have 0 interest in the SuperBowl.

Just got my tickets in Section 115 Row 20, is this a good spot? All I can tell is the Rangers shoot on that side twice and it seems pretty close.

I've been to plenty of games, but they've always been NYR @ NJD (parents company has season tickets they normally give away to clients).

So excited to finally visit MSG, so anyone else here going to be at the game? LGR!

We were almost going to be in front and below you in 104 but I swapped to 115. Can’t wait and now the Rangers are wearing their Winter Classic jersey too, should be a great game!

Have a great time at the worlds most famous arena my friend.

I can’t wait, wanted to go to MSG for ages! My grandfather used to go to their games in the 40s/50s. Of course I could barely buy some food for the price he paid for tickets lol

I won't! =(

But my 2 cousins from Florida will, their 1st Ranger game. I converted them to Rangerism so I’m happy.

My girlfriends coming, her first time seeing hockey in person. When we met she didn’t even watch hockey. Best part? It was her idea to go to the game Sunday.

Trained her well hahah

That’s great man, a keeper! My wife isn’t a fan but tried to be a good sport… she’ll let me watch the games tho sometimes I need to barter a bit since we only have one tv. Like I can watch but need to give her a massage for 30 minutes of the game :P She will watch with me and half pay attention, and if she sees a goal she will cheer and if she sees some bullshit she will yell at the screen “Stupid Marian – why he not just score huh!? Just put it in!!” I have brought her to one game last season and one this season a few weeks ago, both Rangers wins. Again she cheers the goals and seems to enjoy it, but both times halfway through the game she is like “so wait, how many periods is it?” so I know she wishes it was just two lol…

by BigB22 on Feb 4, 2012 8:15 AM EST up reply actions

Lol, I even got her to play NHL12 with me, she mostly just hits and sets up in the slot for one timers but she learned offsides and lots of the “details of the game” by playing it.

She yells for penalties and gets nervous late in close games.

I was happily surprised she got so into it. After I bought the tickets she goes “oh crap I have nothing to wear” so I told her “just wear something comfortable and warm no big deal” and she replied “no I mean I don’t have a jersey, crap” I laughed

I found one of my old Rangers Jerseys from when I was young (its a medium, havent been a medium in forever hahaha 6’7" doesnt like medium), so now my girlfriend has a jersey to wear :)

Not I but looks like I will be in NYC for business for 2 weeks starting end of Feb. Might need to start looking for some tickets. Anyone one else wanna go to a game? Will kinda suck sitting alone.

So pissed I am gonna miss most of this game, guess I will DVR it and start it halfway through. Just dunno whether I should check scored live while it’s going on, or shield myself entirely from the score and these boards until I can watch it…

Woot, I will be home!

by BigB22 on Feb 5, 2012 9:09 AM EST up reply actions

Woohoo! I hate when i cant watch the games

by teknics on Feb 5, 2012 10:15 AM EST up reply actions

Yep. Think I only missed one game so far this season. It’s the worst and you feel superstitious like they will lose if you’re not watching.

by BigB22 on Feb 5, 2012 10:23 AM EST up reply actions

I missed one or two games at the very start of this season, hated it had to check scores on my phone constantly.

Normally I always felt the Rangers lost when I watched, this year there’s not much losing :)

Ok so I looked for tickets to the Bruins game in March and it is showing me seats in the 400’s for $150!!! Is that for real? Been a while since I have been to the game but they were never this much.

buy an E ticket from stubhub, much much cheaper, MSG’s prices are ridiculous

by rain-g-errs on Feb 4, 2012 3:34 PM EST up reply actions

Sorry but what is stubhub? Scalping place?

no you buy tickets from season ticket holders who can’t make the game. its perfectly legal.

by rain-g-errs on Feb 4, 2012 3:50 PM EST up reply actions

season ticket holders hire some ticket agency to sell tickets to games they do not want to go to for them and it is done through stubhub. It is all legal.

Sometimes people hire the agency and sometimes they do it themselves directly through stubhub, perfectly legit got a lot of good yankee/ranger tickets that way.

by rain-g-errs on Feb 4, 2012 3:52 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah it’s owned by Ebay.

by BigB22 on Feb 4, 2012 4:13 PM EST up reply actions

Thanks I will look into it. I guess by E ticket you mean I could buy it without having it mailed to me?

exactly, i assume being in France right now would be a pain to actually have it mailed, but i guess if you get it far enough in advance.

by rain-g-errs on Feb 4, 2012 6:08 PM EST up reply actions

Thanks everybody! Now who is going to the Bruins game?

as others have said check out stubhub.com another great place is seatgeek.com which gets all the ticket prices from other sites (vivid, stubhub, ebay, etc) and puts it right in one spot. Plus the seatgeek “map” for the tickets is great.

I got 115 row 20 for i think $220 each, all the places will also charge you service fees and shit to tack onto the price so make sure you check the actual final price before deciding.

I used stubhub e-tickets, they let me download the tickets as PDFs, just print the PDFs and the confirmation email and off you go.

Hope that helps :)

wow, great seats, have fun. my partner with the season tix takes the Sunday games so I won’t be going. wish I were, should be a good one.

Thanks! I’m about to be on my way now. We’re taking the ferry from NJ to NY and then the bus to MSG. I cant wait to see the ice!

by teknics on Feb 5, 2012 10:53 AM EST up reply actions

I’m really excited for you. like I said, bring home a win!!

by Richter1994 on Feb 5, 2012 10:57 AM EST up reply actions

THAT WAS A GREAT FRIGGIN GAME!

My g/f’s first ever live hockey game and she got to see:
4 fights, 4on4, tons of PPs, a breakaway goal (unfortunately phillys), empty net goal, rangers huge win, just about every scenario you could ask for in a game lol.

We joined in on a whole bunch of chants too lol. What an awesome atmosphere, must do it more often!

by teknics on Feb 5, 2012 7:48 PM EST reply actions

congrats on the win. great game to be at.
