Jayson Megna Sent to the AHL

Jayson Megna gets sent to the AHL, does this mean we see Daniel Paille make his debut tonight? It all depends on the condition of Chris Kreider.

Well, that was a fun and confusing ride while it lasted.

Jayson Megna and his superfluous "y" have been sent back to the Hartford Wolf Pack after a five game stint with the big club in the NHL. Megna managed to score a goal and pick up his assist in his first game with the Rangers while playing on the top line with Rick Nash, but has been ineffective and sporadically used since the first game after his call up that ultimately spelled the end of Emerson Etem's time in New York.

The demotion of the one-time Pittsburgh Penguin means not only that Tanner Glass continues to haunt the fourth line, it also means that there is a chance the recently signed Daniel Paille might be making his Rangers debut tonight against Jeff Skinner and the Carolina Hurricanes who are coming off of a 1-0 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Chris Kreider, who missed yesterday's practice with neck spasms, has five points in his last four games with the Blueshirts. Paille has not played in the NHL since March 22nd- his last game with the Boston Bruins.

Tonight's contest against the Hurricanes is the first of a three games in four nights stretch that will test the Rangers in a series of games against opponents that, on paper, they should beat. We'll have to see how that goes if Kreider is out of the lineup and replaced by the legs of the 31 defensive forward that was added to the team just yesterday.

Thanks for reading. Let's go Rangers.
