New York Rangers Lineup For Tomorrow’s Preseason Opener

The New York Rangers have released tomorrow’s lineup for the team’s preseason opener against the New York Islanders.

Lineup is below:

Few things here:

  1. I cannot overstate how much I am in love with the Chris Kreider - Mika Zibanejad - Pavel Buchnevich line. Yesterday Alain Vigneault said they were the best line in practice, and their combination of speed, size and skill is literally intoxicating.
  2. Don’t freak out over the bottom six. Honestly, seeing Tanner Glass AND Maxim Lapierre is jarring, but that bottom six looks like the guys fighting for roster spots on Hartford rather than on Broadway. There’s too much talent to assume even one of the two makes the team ... I hope.
  3. I like Vigneault keeping together Robin Kovacs and Malte Stromwall. Prediction: Stromwall is one of the last guys sent down from camp this year.
  4. The defense is ... well. At least Brady Skjei will be out there.
