Game #74: New York Rangers vs Arizona Coyotes Open Thread

The Blueshirts are set for their final game against a Western Conference opponent on the 2023-24 regular season. Mullett Arena, home of the Arizona State Sun Devils, is the venue for tonight’s contest as the Rangers pay a visit to the Sun Devils’ arena tenant, the Arizona Coyotes.

While the Coyotes are going through the motions in yet another lost season, the Rangers take the ice tonight in search of their 50th win. The toughest stretch of the schedule is in the rear view mirror now, and Peter Laviolette’s squad will face only one team currently in playoff position over the final nine games of the season starting tonight. The path to the Presidents’ Trophy and the home ice advantage for however far the Rangers advance is there for the taking, and the taking starts tonight in Tempe.

Player to Watch: Ryan Lindgren

After suffering a gruesome looking leg injury last week that appeared to have season-ending potential, Lindgren was back in the lineup on Thursday after only a four game absence. Lindgren didn’t skip a beat in his return to action, logging over 20 minutes and assuming his usual role on the left side of New York’s top defensive pairing. Keep an eye on Lindgren tonight as the Blueshirts wrap up their extended final road trip of the regular season.

Enjoy the game!
