I don't ever recall this being discussed. I know it might sound lame but I was on youtube tonight reliving last year's game 6 against the rangers when i thought i heard something crazy. Fast forward to exactly 1:32:55, what does Doc say? Am i going crazy here????
I hate reading articles like this at 8:30 AM on a Friday after a big win over Philly
A 2 hour party outside on Championship Plaza featuring the Devils dancers, Kings Highways (a bluegrass group...eh), a beer garden, and much more. It's supposed to be an awesome say weather wise so get to the Rock early and celebrate the seaosn opener.
Niedermayer's #27 will join Scott Stevens' #4 and Ken Daneyko's #3 high in the rafters at Prudential Center. The Devils play the Dallas Stars at 7 p.m. The link is from the Devils website with a nice bio and a quote from Lou.
UPDATED - New link from the Devils website announcing the players sent down to Albany. Clermont is the only goalie but the other names shouldn't surprise you. Per Gulitti - These are the players that will be returning to their respected Major Junior Teams in Canada: "Goaltender Scott Wedgewood (Plymouth, OHL); defenseman Reece Scarlett (Swift Current, WHL); and forwards J.T. Barnett (Kamloops, WHL), Reid Boucher (Sarnia, OHL) and Thomas Nesbitt (Ottawa, OHL)."
The New Jersey Devils have avoided arbitration and settled on a one-year, $6 million contract with Zach Parise.
As I reported yesterday, and now confirmed, #NJD prospect Alexander Vasyunov is going back to the #KHL.
— Dmitry Chesnokov (@dchesnokov) June 22, 2011
Via Puck Daddy's Dmitry Chesnokov, Vasyunov will be going back to his KHL club Lokomotiv rather than staying with the Devils. He's a restricted free agent according to Capgeek- so i'm not too sure how this will work out.
Jamie Langenbrunner confirmed he is on the verge of being traded by the Devils. He said he has been in discussions about waiving no-trade

Discuss here until game thread goes up. If a trade occurs tonight a new story will go up on the site to talk about it.
The Devils have assigned defenseman Alexander Urbom to Albany (AHL) and recalled D Olivier Magnan-Grenier. #njdevils
— New Jersey Devils (@NHLDevils) October 18, 2010
This was a surprise. Urbom had not played great, but I just don't get this move. Hopefully Rich Chere or Tom Gulitti can find out why this move was made. I will update later with any new info.
Devils have recalled forwards Jacob Josefson and Tim Sestito, and defenseman Matt Corrente from Albany (AHL). #njdevils

Per @NHLDevils, the Devils have recalled Jacob Josefson, Matt Corrente and Tim Sestito after placing Brian Rolston on LTIR yesterday. Instant Reaction: A little surprising. I had thought Vladimir Zharkov and David McIntyre would be the call ups and possibly Corrente (depending on the status of Anton Volchenkov). Corrente gives the Devils a little more depth on the blue line and will be able to make a case that he deserves to be on the NHL roster. Sestito, much like last year, will be energy off the bench in a fourth line role. It will be interesting to see how Josefson fits in. Does he get 3rd line minutes or will he need to get a promotion from the 4th line? If he is instantly on the third line that sets up the fourth line at Adam Mair/Rod Pelley/Tim Sestito, which isn't terrible. One plus to having Mair/Pelley on the fourth line is that you can still utilize them on the PK without overplaying them. That said, I think Pelley has been really good the past two games and that the 3rd line/4th line minutes should be based upon the flow of the game.
