Considering that one of the KHL franchises has told New Jersey they are willing to offer more than they will, this is good news for anyone who thinks Kovalchuk will stay in NJ (or the NHL) as the KHL's lone strength of money isn't going to be of much help now. Plus if there's a strike going on, it seems pointless to sign with an organization that has no real future
