"I think our top players don’t fight hard enough," Tortorella said. "We miss Vinny Prospal. I don’t think our top guys are working hard enough on the power play. That’s a very important thing for us."
Sean Avery rotating in on fourth line with Brian Boyle Donald Brashear and Aaron Voros.
Top three lines remain constant: Prospal-Dubinsky-Gaborik Higgins-Drury-Callahan Lisin-Anisimov-Kotalik
Sean Avery said he would make the trip to DC for the last pre-season game and would continue treatment. The LW said he had no timetable for when he would skate. Dubinsky will start as No. 1 center vs. Caps; Prospal will roll between C and LW, says Tortorella.
"He didn’t want us to be sitting back and play the trap. He wanted us to play uptempo hockey, be offensive-minded, a team that’s gonna be taking chances but also play good defense. The motto was "safe is death", that basically sums up the way he likes to coach."
