- The New York Rangers cruised to a 3-0 victory over the New York Islanders last night, and currently sit atop of the Eastern Conference. Carl Hagelin scored twice, and Michael Del Zotto set up Hagelin on both of his goals. Marian Gaborik also had an empty net goal, and increased his league leading goal total to 22.
- After some hard skating practices, Marc Staal has officially been cleared to receive contact. Although Staal is cleared for contact, he needs to get back into game shape before returning to the line-up. Could the Winter Classic be too soon to see Staal?
