Today's New York Rangers notes.

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning, folks. The Rangers were off on Monday, and did not practice with a scheduled day off. The team played back-to-back games this past weekend, and will face off against the Bruins Tuesday night in what should be a physical rematch of last year's Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. There's a lot to talk about from Monday, so here are your morning notes.

Brandon Mashinter was re-assigned to Hartford on Monday. [Blueshirt Banter] Normally, this wouldn't be that big of a deal, that is, unless we didn't have more to share...

Rick Nash could return to action Tuesday night when the Rangers host the Bruins. [Daily News] The Mashinter move gave the Rangers an additional roster spot to bring Nash back. The last time the Rangers all-star took the ice October 8 in San Jose, a game in which he suffered a concussion that has since sidelined him. If Nash returns to the lineup Tuesday night (or even Thursday), it will mark the first time all season the Rangers will have their full compliment of players on the ice at once.

When Nash does return, it's time for the Rangers to protect their big-time forward. [NY Post]

Back at .500 again, and lacking some offensive punch, the Rangers need Nash back. [ESPN NY]

After being benched for about 10 minutes in the middle of the second period on Sunday night versus the Kings, Alain Vigneault said there's no injury hampering Carl Hagelin. [ESPN NY]

With the Rangers one of the teams participating in the Coors Light Stadium Series, Henrik Lundqvist is one of more than a dozen players followed on a new NBC Sports Network show "NHL Revealed: A Season Like No Other." The series will focus on the outdoor games, as well the the Olympics in Sochi. [Daily News]

Last week, we showed you the new Rangerstown video. Today, we have the outtakes. [Blueshirts United]
