According to the New York Rangers official twitter account the Rangers have agreed to terms with yet another undrafted free agent, forward Michael Kantor of the Subdbury Wolves.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>The <a href="https://twitter.com/search/%23NYR">#NYR</a> have agreed to terms with undrafted free agent F Michael Kantor, who was 20-13-33, 93 PIM this year with Sudbury of the OHL</p>&mdash; New York Rangers (@NYRangers) <a href="https://twitter.com/NYRangers/status/324870478411988992">April 18, 2013</a></blockquote>

Kantor, 21, is a right wing from Lake Forest, Illinois that had 20 goals and 93 PIM in 56 games played this past season with the Sudbury Wolves. According to Steve Zipay (via twitter) Kantor will be AHL-bound and is just one more young, hungry kid looking to prove himself in the Rangers system. Perhaps this signing, along with the signings of Conor Allen and Tommy Hughes, is an effort to compensate for not having a first and second round pick in the upcoming draft but is likely that the Rangers have been keeping an eye on Kantor and liked his game and think he could be a valuable forward at the AHL-level.

According to hockeysfuture.com Kantor is "a gritty forward who will fight." Here's a look at what he can do in the pugilistic arts:

I know this is hardly "exciting" news but it is interesting that the Rangers have added so many undrafted young players this season. Might be worth keeping an eye on what Kantor does in the AHL in terms of his ability to take the body and defend his teammates.

Thoughts?

Let's go Rangers.
