After losing to the Pittsburgh Penguins in a shootout last night, the New York Rangers will be right back at it with a game against the Carolina Hurricanes. The Rangers played outstanding last night, but unfortunately, they ran into a red hot Marc-Andre Fleury. Tonight is a huge game for the Rangers, as they have an opportunity to create some cushion between themselves and other teams battling for playoff position.
The Hurricanes have been pretty miserable in their last ten games, going a very putrid 1-8-1. Even though the Rangers only came away with one point, it easily one of the best game the Rangers have played all season. They had a bazillion scoring chances, and were all sticking up for one another when the Penguins started dishing out cheap shots.
Some Quick Thoughts:
- There's no doubt that the lineup will remain the same for the third straight game, as the Rangers have been playing some dominating hockey since the trade deadline. All of the new guys are chipping in, and prove that they belong in this lineup.
- After tweaking his hamstring in the shootout last night, Henrik Lundqvist insisted that he was fine, and he would see how he felt in the morning. Things were apparently going pretty well for Lundqvist this morning, and he said all is good. You would think Martin Biron would get the start tonight, but don't be surprised if Lundqvist goes again in this one.
