The final infraction may prove to be the most costly, as Chris Kreider was called for an ugly hit on Jonas Brodin, and was given a five-minute boarding penalty, and a game misconduct. With the penalty comign at the 19:44 mark of the first, the Wild will essentially get the full five minutes of power play time to begin the second, while New York will be without Kreider for the rest of the night.
The hit could be worthy of supplemental discipline from the league, and Brodin did not return to the game to begin the second period. The Wild entered the night goalless on the power play, only one of two teams in the league, and didn't capitalize on either of their opportunities in the first.
