The unimportance of a depth chart; Haula's nice words on Moore; Saturday's Banter meet-up

Today's New York Rangers notes.

Anthony Gruppuso-USA TODAY Sports

It's been quite some time since we've hockeyed, folks, but fear not! Today is Friday, which is good for a few reasons. To start, tomorrow is Saturday, and the weekend. That also means the Rangers are back in action tomorrow night, coming off a four day layoff. By now, you're probably well aware the Blueshirts are in a stretch without too many games, but that'll all end on Saturday. But until then, here are your morning notes.

Derek Stepan is expected back pretty soon, meaning another tough lineup decision for Alain Vigneault. But in reality, the Rangers could afford to dump some "tough," and also abandon this depth chart nonsense altogether. [Blueshirt Banter]

John Moore may be developing a bit of a reputation following his second suspension in 14 days, but his latest victim, Erik Haula, defended the Rangers defenseman and commended him for what he did following the hit. [Newsday]

Are you going to be at Saturday's Rangers-Jets game? Are you not a misanthrope or someone morally opposed to meeting new people? Well both Banter-boss Joseph Fortunato and myself will be among those in attendance, and coming to the Blueshirt Banter meet-upTM during the game. Find the deetz here. [Blueshirt Banter]
