According to the National Hockey League, tomorrow's game between the New York Rangers and Buffalo Sabres has been postponed until further notice. Due to extreme weather conditions ongoing in the Buffalo area, the NHL deemed it unsafe to follow through with the scheduled game, and will announce a makeup date in the coming days. Within the last 24 hours, there has been a total of five feet of snow accumulated around Buffalo, while another three feet is expected to hit the area by the end of Thursday.
Here's the official announcement from the league:
NEW YORK -- Due to the continuing weather-related difficulties in the Greater Buffalo area and out of respect for the fans of the Sabres, Friday's game between the New York Rangers and Buffalo Sabres at First Niagara Center, NHL Game No. 291, has been postponed.
A makeup date will be announced as soon as it can be confirmed.
With Friday's game officially off the schedule, the New York Rangers will have a few extra days to prepare for their upcoming match against the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday.
