Yep, I've seen dark, mean skies like these before... storm's a comin'.

So Dylan McIlrath has made the team at the expense of Raphael Diaz and, somehow, Tanner Glass is still with the Rangers. With the demotion of Jayson Megna and Raphael Diaz the Rangers' roster is now down to the maximum 23 players. We'll have to see what happens with Diaz and the waiver wire and keep an eye on this alleged trade talk that Steve Zipay alluded to in the embedded tweet above. Is it Glass that is being shopped or someone else? Klein?

No matter how you feel about Diaz getting the axe and being waived you have to be at least a little bit pleased for Dylan McIlrath who was a longshot from the word "go" at the start of training camp. McIlrath showed that he had the goods to be a 6th or 7th defenseman in the NHL with his play in the preseason and the Rangers are going to give him that chance this season. I know that I'm happy for him, but I'm not sure this was the right move to ensure that the 2015-16 Rangers are the best team that they can be. I guess we'll see.

I'm not sure what Tanner Glass showed the coaching staff in training camp and preseason to justify that he wasn't waived today, but the fact that he's still around is more than enough to make my head hurt. Buckle up, my friends.

We'll keep you posted if there are any developments and have some analysis coming your way soon.
