2015 Playoffs: Girardi Stays In, Klein Remains Out

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

As of right now it appears that the Rangers' blue line will be without the services of Kevin Klein for Game Two tonight at Madison Square Garden. Yesterday Alain Vigneault announced that Klein was still not cleared to practice with the team so it should come as no surprise that he took the ice today with Darryl Williams to do some work on getting back into the swing of things.

As we already have heard from Vigneault, Klein will not be back in the lineup until he gets a practice with the team under his belt. So, Kevin Klein remains out of the lineup for the Blueshirts due to his broken arm, but another Rangers defenseman who many of us thought might have been seriously hurt is apparently just fine.

Yet again Dan Girardi has proven that he is, in fact, unbreakable. Girardi took a puck to the cheek late in Game One on Thursday night from the stick of Chris Kunitz. We didn't get a lot of news or updates on Girardi's condition after Thursday's game outside of hearing that he was seeing a dentist. The fact that he doesn't have to wear a cage or a jaw protector like Derek Stepan did in the 2014 Playoffs is great news for the Rangers.

Also, if you needed another reason to love, respect, and admire Dominic Moore any more than you already do...

The Rangers will take to the Garden ice at 8:00 PM tonight to try and go up 2-0 in their First Round series against the Pittsburgh Penguins. As of right now, the advantage the Rangers have in regards to their team health is absolutely staggering when compared to the Penguins', let's hope it stays that way. Let's also hope that we see a much better game from Dan Boyle tonight.

Let's go Rangers.
