In somewhat expected news, Nathan Gerbe has refused to report to Hartford of the AHL and has been placed on waivers with the intent to release him per Larry Brooks.
Gerbe has opted not to report to AHL Wolf Pack and will be on waivers for purposes of release. Has job awaiting in Switzerland.

Reports surfaced a few weeks ago that both Gerbe and Josh Joorish had offers in Switzerland in the event they didn’t make the big club. Jooris remains on the Rangers roster right now, but that’s subject to change depending on what the Rangers do to get cap compliant by 5 p.m. today.
Gerbe originally looked like a lock to make the Rangers roster when he was signed, but the additions of Jimmy Vesey, Pavel Buchnevich, Michael Grabner and Brandon Pirri rendered him as a spare part. It also doesn’t help that Cristoval “Boo” Nieves was so impressive this summer the Rangers might be thinking of using him as their fourth line center this year .
We’ll keep you in the loop on Jooris and his situation moving forward.
