As expected Amanda Kessel will make her long-awaited return to the United States Women’s National Team. It will be Kessel’s first competition with the USWNT since the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi.
The entire 23 woman roster for the tournament is listed below:
Kacey Bellamy, Megan Bozek, Alex Carpenter, Kendall Coyne, Brianna Decker, Meghan Duggan, Nicole Hensley, Megan Keller, Hilary Knight, Monique Lamoureux-Morando, Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson, Annie Pankowski, Emily Pfalzer, Alex Rigsby, Haley Skarupa, Kelli Stack, Lee Stecklein, Dana Trivigno, Hannah Brandt, Amanda Kessel, Shelby Amsley-Benzie, Anne Schleper, Stephanie Anderson
That is a lot of talent from the ranks of the NWHL’s four teams.
The USWNT camp runs from October 24th to 28th in East Meadow, New York. The tournament itself will take place from November 1st to November 5th in Vierumaki, Finland. The NWHL schedule was structured to accommodate the tournament. As a result, Kessel will not miss any games with the New York Riveters.
The Riveters play the Boston Pride on the 22nd of October before the tournament. They don’t play again until November 12th in Buffalo against the Beauts.
As always the American team will play Canada, Finland, and Sweden in the tournament. They are the defending champions after winning the Four Nations Cup in 2015.
