Open Game Thread: Rangers vs Jets

The New York Rangers will journey into Winnipeg this evening for a meeting with the Winnipeg Jets. Last game, the Rangers not only lost on the scoreboard, but they also added two more key players to the injury list. Rick Nash left the game after tweaking his groin, Jimmy Vesey was hobbling off the ice all night long, and Matt Puempel suffered a concussion following a high hit from Brock Nelson. The injury bug continues to haunt the Rangers, and as a result, they will have quite an interesting lineup tonight against the Jets.

The projected lines are as follows:

Chris Kreider - Derek Stepan - Mats Zuccarello
Michael Grabner - Kevin Hayes - J.T. Miller
Brandon Pirri - Oscar Lindberg - Jesper Fast
Nicklas Jensen - Josh Jooris - Marek Hrivik

Ryan McDonagh - Dan Girardi
Marc Staal - Nick Holden
Brady Skjei - Kevin Klein

Antti Raanta

At the other end of the ice, the Rangers will look to shutdown the Jets offense fueled by rookie sensation, Patrik Laine.

Nikolaj Ehlers - Bryan Little - Patrik Laine
Drew Stafford - Mark Scheifele - Blake Wheeler
Mathieu Perreault - Adam Lowry - Mark Dano
Brandon Tanev - Andrew Copp - Chris Thorburn

Josh Morrissey - Dustin Byfuglien
Toby Enstrom - Jacob Trouba
Ben Chiarot - Paul Postma

Michael Hutchinson

Players To Watch: After having a rather productive training camp, Nicklas Jensen will make his season debut for the New York Rangers. He'll start out on the fourth line, and will hopefully be able to add some offense to bottom-six. Jensen is known for his quick wrist shot, so if he can get into the open areas tonight, look for him to make his mark with his shot.

Enjoy the game!
