Rangers Recall Jayson Megna... Again

Jayson Megna gets the call up which can't be good news for Rick Nash's bone bruise.

Jayson Megna last played for the Rangers on January 19th against the Vancouver Canucks in a 3-2 loss at the Garden. Megna's return to the lineup does not bode well for the timetable on Rick Nash's bone bruise injury. This also might spell Daniel Paille rotating out of the lineup... or it could mean a forward that isn't on the fourth line that should in no way be sitting coming out of the lineup instead of Paille.

Why the Rangers didn't turn to Marek Hrivik or Ryan Bourque is a little bit vexing considering how underwhelming Megna was during his last call up, but it looks like Alain Vigneault has an attachment to Megna and believes that he is the right man for the job. It's also curious that we aren't getting a look at recent acquisition Nicklas Jensen before seeing Megna in a Rangers jersey again, but at this point it's become hard to be surprised by some of the questionable lineup decisions that Vigneault has made.

The Rangers are at home against the Minnesota Wild tomorrow night and they are on the road on Saturday afternoon against the Philadelphia Flyers.
