Well, there's no hockey action for a few more days, so the biggest news today was the announcement of the final team rosters for the 2016 WOH tournament.

Rangers players participating are Lundqvist (Sweden), Stepan, McDonagh (USA), JT Miller (North America), and Zucc (Europe).

  • When: Sept. 17 - Oct. 1, 2016
  • Where: Air Canada Centre in Toronto
  • Who: Eight International Teams
  • Organizers: NHL; NHLPA; IIHF
  • Rules: NHL
  • Rosters; 20 skaters plus 3 goalies
  • Last WCH: 2006; Winner: Canada
  • Group A Group B
    Team Canada Team Finland
Team Czech Republic Team North America
    Team Europe Team Russia
    Team USA Team Sweden

The top two finishers in each group advance to the semifinals, with the winners playing a best two out of three for the title.

The NHL has said that this tournament will have no bearing on the decision on whether to participate in the 2018 Olympics, but only time will tell.

It should be an interesting tournament, but as a Rangers fan I have two concerns: The first of course, is avoiding any injuries, especially to Hank. The second is wear and tear because it's going to be a long season for some. But it is what it is and for hockey fans it should be fun.

    Thoughts?
