Today the Riveters have finally found their replacement for retired forward and former alternate captain Morgan Fritz-Ward.
Former RPI winger and New Jersey native Lauren Wash has signed with the Riveters.
From the NWHL’s press release:
Wash, 22 and from Belle Meade, NJ, played four years of collegiate hockey from 2012 – 2016 at RPI, amassing 24 goals and 23 assists for 47 points over 130 games. She developed as a player in the New Jersey Rockets program.
Wash has experience playing with rookie forwards Alexa Gruschow and Miye D’Oench.
It appears that Wash will be a depth forward. Chad Wiseman praised her energy level and tempo in the league’s press release. Wash should contribute to the team speed that has been so crucial to the Riveters’ style of play this season.
Last weekend the Connecticut Whale’s mid-season signing Meghan Huertas scored a goal in her NWHL debut.
