Fast, Girardi and Hellberg at Rangers practice

The Rangers are slowly but surely getting healthier and that might mean an end to Steven Kampfer and Tanner Glass being in the lineup.

Dan Girardi, who was suffering from an ankle injury (an open wound), and Jesper Fast, who had a shoulder injury after a bone-jarring hit from Alex Ovechkin, were both practicing with the team today wearing normal jerseys. Fast had been previously been skating on his own in a no-contact jersey.

Kevin Klein remains out of the lineup and has not played since February 23rd. If Girardi is indeed back it will likely spell the end of Kampfer’s time with the Rangers. What that means for Adam Clendening’s future and role is unclear.

Klein’s injury is still considered day-to-day as far as we know.

What is also unclear is whether or not Glass will still be with the club if Fast is good to play tomorrow against the Florida Panthers. Say what you will about Glass, but he has certainly made an impression since his controversial call-up from the AHL.

In five games with the Rangers this season Glass has a goal, an assist, a fighting major, 14 hits and is averaging 10:15 TOI/g.

The other bit of news from today’s practice was that Magnus Hellberg was recalled from the AHL on an emergency basis. He participated in two practices with the Wolf Pack after being sent down to the minors on March 14th. Henrik Lundqvist is projected to return sometime at the end of the month.

Update: Pavel Buchnevich sitting for Glass. Can’t make it up.
