Rangers v. Bruins: Open Game Thread

Following an enjoyable victory over Chicago, a team that is actually trying to win hockey games, the Blueshirts head north to Boston, the home turf of David Quinn, Adam McQuaid, and several other players, for an Original Six matchup against the Bruins.

Projected Lineup as of 4 p.m.:

20 Kreider - 93 Zibanejad - 36 Zuccarello

72 Chytil - 16 Strome - 17 Fast

26 Vesey - 24 Nieves - 90 Namestnikov

8 McLeod - 21 Howden - 89 Buchnevich

18 Staal - 77 DeAngelo

76 Skjei - 54 McQuaid

55 Lindgren - 22 Shattenkirk

30 Lundqvist

32 Mazanec

This last game before the bye week matters for both net minders: if Boston comes out on top, Tuukka Rask will be the team’s all-time leader in wins; if the Rangers do, Henrik Lundqvist will pass Terry Sawchuk for sole possession of the sixth-most wins ever in the NHL. Lundqvist has a .936 SV%  in the last six matchups against the Bruins, and the Blueshirts haven’t lost in Boston since 2015, so history is on his side; we’ll see if his defense is!
