Game #21: New York Rangers vs Montreal Canadiens Open Thread

After last night’s pitiful effort in Kanata, the New York Rangers will get a chance to wash the taste of defeat out of their mouths quickly. David Quinn’s squad will wrap up their road trip through Canada tonight, as they’ll head into the Bell Centre to take on the Montreal Canadiens.

The Blueshirts have been something of a Jekyll and Hyde team all season, and the last two games epitomize that. A strong effort against the league leading Washington Capitals  earned the team two points prior to this road trip, but the Rangers followed up that showing with a stinker against the Senators. Alexandar Georgiev will get the start in goal tonight.

Player to Watch: Brendan Lemieux

After arriving from Winnipeg at last year’s trade deadline, Lemieux has seemingly found a long term home on Broadway. Having spent the majority of this season on a line with Brett Howden and Kaapo Kakko, Lemieux has played the type of game that only he can. Currently leading the league with 52 PIM’s, as well as a 52:1 PIM to goal ratio, look for Lemieux to make his presence known on the ice in Montreal. Also, keep an eye out for any time he crosses paths with Max Domi, as the two have something of a personal rivalry.

Enjoy the game!
