Game #12: Ottawa Senators vs New York Rangers Open Thread

The New York Rangers are back at home tonight, as they’ll welcome the Ottawa Senators into the world’s most famous arena. Looking to build off of their victories over Tampa Bay and Nashville, the Blueshirts will welcome a team a tier below the former two into their building and look to extend their winning streak to three games. After jumping out to an early lead against Nashville and hanging on for the win, David Quinn’s squad will look to put together a complete 60:00 and earn two points.

Alexandar Georgiev will get a third consecutive start in goal before ceding the net to Henrik Lundqvist tomorrow night. The rest of the lineup remains the same, with Greg McKegg and Marc Staal sitting as healthy scratches.

Player to Watch: Artemiy Panarin

After coming to Broadway as the big splash of the offseason, Panarin had an almost impossibly high ceiling to reach to justify the hype surrounding his arrival. Through the first month of the season, he’s done the impossible. Coming into tonight’s game riding a four game point streak, and 5-6-11 stat line through 11 contests, Panarin as been better than advertised as he’s spearheaded the Blueshirts’ offense early in the 2019-20 campaign. Facing a sub-par Ottawa defense, look for Panarin to continue his dominance tonight.

Enjoy the game!
