Karl Henriksson to Return to Frölunda in Coming Days

It is atypical for Europe-based prospects to participate in the Traverse City Tournament, and so the presence of 2019 second-round pick Karl Henriksson created some confusion. The Swedish center, under contract with Frölunda in the Swedish Elite League, had joined the beginning of Rangers’ training camp. Would he be spending the season in North America after all?

Blueshirt Banter has clarified the situation. Frölunda and the Rangers had come to a temporary agreement that would allow Henriksson to join the rest of the Rangers’ prospects for the Traverse City Tournament and very beginning of training camp.

“(Henriksson) will return to Frölunda by the end of this week,” Frölunda Media Manager Peter Pettersson Kymmer tells Blueshirt Banter.

Henriksson, 18, has a goal and assist through three games at Traverse City. He and the Rangers will conclude the tournament today at 12:30ET against St. Louis.
