After the Rangers earned a dominant victory over the Islanders two nights ago, these two New York rivals are set to clash out on Long Island tonight. A 6-2 victory at Madison Square Garden on Monday has set the stage for this evening’s clash at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Colosseum. The Blueshirts will look to build on the strong effort they put forth two nights ago, while the Islanders will look to find a way to score on Alexandar Georgiev more than once before the game gets out of hand.

Player to Watch: Alexandar Georgiev

The longer the Blueshirts carry three goaltenders on their active roster, the longer trade speculation will swirl around Georgiev’s future on Broadway. With Henrik Lundqvist locked into the Rangers’ roster until the end of next season, and Igor Shesterkin staking his claim to the throne after Lundqvist, Georgiev currently finds himself in an awkward position. The better he plays, the more likely he is to be dealt sooner rather than later. After putting forth a strong effort against the Islanders on Monday, look for another stellar performance as he takes his act on the road tonight. It could be his last until after the All-Star break.

Enjoy the game!
