Game #68: New Jersey Devils vs New York Rangers Open Thread

After Thursday’s night’s thriller against the Washington Capitals, the Rangers will conclude their four game home stand with another Metropolitan Division cash. After matching up with the division leaders last game, David Quinn’s squad will clash with the the cellar dwellers of the Metro, Jack Hughes and his New Jersey Devils. While the top seven teams in the division currently find themselves in the thick of the playoff race, the Devils are in the thick of the race for 30th overall in the draft lottery.

After losing the first two games of their home stand before defeating Washington, the Blueshirts will look to end it on a high note and secure two critical points against a Devils’ squad going through the motions. Sami Vatanen and Wayne Simmonds have moved on for greener pastures since the last time these teams met, so look for the Rangers to end their home stand on a high note.

Player to Watch: Igor Shesterkin

After missing a week and a half in the wake of his car accident, Shesterkin is set to return to the net tonight. Look for him to re-assert himself as the Blueshirts’ top goaltender as their push for the playoffs continues in earnest.

Enjoy the game!
