Henrik Lundqvist will be part of MSG’s Rangers coverage this season

“Yes, hello? You are going to love this.”

The New York Post is reporting that New York Rangers legend Henrik Lundqvist will be part of MSG Networks coverage of the 2021-22 season.

That means we are going to get to see Hank trade stories with his former goaltending partner, Steve Valiquette. Yes, this is a story everyone can and should love.

From the Post:

Henrik Lundqvist will be part of MSG Network’s Rangers coverage this year. Lundqvist will be in studio for around 20 games, joining host John Giannone and analyst Steve Valiquette.

Around 20 games of Lundqvist talking Rangers means that he will be in the MSG studio for one-fourth of the season talking about his former team. Needless to say, Lundqvist is known for his charm. He has given thoughtful answers to interviews for years and could be a fascinating (and popular) addition to the broadcast team. It will be interesting to see the game through his eyes, especially in regards to the play of goaltenders Igor Shesterkin and Alexandar Georgiev — both of whom were recently his understudies.

Lundqvist, 39, is having his number retired on January 28th when the Rangers play the Minnesota Wild. He was very good at hockey and he has many fine suits.
