Game #6: New York Rangers vs Ottawa Senators Open Thread

The New York Rangers are set for their first afternoon matinee of the season. Gerard Gallant’s squad comes into today riding a three game winning streak, and they’ll look to make it four against the Ottawa Senators. Having already earned victories in Toronto and Montreal during their streak, the Blueshirts will look to finish off a sweep of Eastern Canada today.

Igor Shesterkin has started the last four games since the season opener, so it’ll be Alexandar Georgiev getting the start in net today. After a rough outing in the opener in Washington, Georgiev will need a strong outing today to quell any whispers of the team possibly recalling Keith Kinkaid from AHL Hartford to backup moving forward.

Player to Watch: Dryden Hunt

As one of the quiet offseason signings the Blueshirts made, Hunt parlayed a strong camp performance into a spot in the lineup every game thus far. New York’s winger depth is rather paltry due to a variety of circumstances, but continued strong play from Hunt could help alleviate that. Keep an eye on him this afternoon.

Enjoy the game!
