Rangers vs. Flyers: Mika Zibanejad Records Six Points And Natural Hat Trick in 8-3 Trouncing of Philly

What can I really say about tonight’s victory over the Philadelphia Flyers that hasn’t been expressed already on Twitter? I mean, eight goals is good and all, but it isn’t nine or ten :p. Seriously though, the game was an absolute trouncing led by Mika Zibanejad tallying another natural hat trick, and finishing with six points on the evening. Adam Fox picked up five assists, but too bad he’s a sophomore and has to put more time in to get legitimate Norris consideration.

Adam Fox Deserves Your Respect

Ryan Strome had a pretty awesome four-point night too, and he’s now up to 30 in 32 games played which is pretty damn good. Oh, and Pavel Buchnevich continued his torment of Alain Vigneault picking up a pair of goals and increasing his career line vs. the former Rangers’ bench boss to 5-4-9 in seven games played.

What Could A Pavel Buchnevich Extension Look Like?

Kids like K’Andre Miller (goal), Filip Chytil (goal), and Alexis Lafrenière (assist) picked up points, and it was good to see them get involved in things that didn’t show up on the score sheet too.

Igor Shesterkin also looked swell too making 41 saves on the night, and didn’t look at all rusty after a bit of a lengthy layoff. You could say he performed like an antique clock, one that was crafted carefully and ticks with precision and consistency. Man are the Rangers lucky to have someone like him who at 25 has quite a career ahead of him, and don’t have to worry about time running out on him or something silly like that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

For a full box score of who picked up points, I have this handy guide for you. Yeah it is emoji based, but I think you can figure most of them out.

Now, I’d be remiss not to mention the team took their foot off the gas a bit and allowed the Flyers to score and gain some life, but at the end of the night they got the job done.

In case you missed the game, here’s a video recap from NHL dot com.
