Game #22: New York Rangers vs New Jersey Devils Open Thread

Saturday afternoon hockey is on the slate for David Quinn’s squad, as they’re set to finish up their two game set with the New Jersey Devils. While the Rangers blew out the Devils by a 6-1 margin two nights ago, they had to watch Igor Shesterkin be helped off the ice after straining his groin. The team has came out and said that his status is day-to-day, so Alexandar Georgiev will look to keep the ball rolling at Prudential Center.

A win today will even the season series up at two games apiece, and will mark the halfway pint of the season series. With the Devils already fading out of playoff contention, today’s game serves as an opportunity for the Blueshirts to put more distance between themselves and their Hudson River rivals.

Player to Watch: Kaapo Kakko

Due to being placed on the league’s COVID Protocol list, Kakko has missed the last several games. After being activated off the list yesterday, Kakko is set to make his return to the lineup. Keep an eye on Kakko as he attempts to knock off any rust and get back into the action this afternoon.

Enjoy the game!
