The Rangers should be on the phone with San Jose about trading up for the second overall pick, Benoit Allaire is retiring and going straight to Valhalla, and Chip dropped an Adam Fox trade proposal that both guys would actually do.

They think the Rangers should be on the phone with Mike Grier about trading up for the second overall pick and Ivar Stenberg, with Braden Schneider as the centerpiece. Caleb Malhotra is almost certainly gone by five, Carson Carels is the consensus fallback, Eric does not want to endure another Keaton Verhoeff-can't-skate cycle, and Viggo Björck would be a reach at five no matter how much Snark and Roberto like him. Benoit Allaire is retiring and goes straight to Valhalla, Bill Guerin should have traded for Vincent Trocheck and now the Wild are a game from elimination, the Sidney Crosby lottery absolutely was rigged but most of the others are not, and Chip's trade proposal—the second overall pick, the 20th, Michael Misa, and a secondary prospect for Adam Fox—is one both guys would actually do.
