Blueshirt Banter Speaks To Henrik Lundqvist

Editor’s note: Hey guys, as you might know, Patrik has helped us in the past with some overseas interviews. This is another fantastic piece of work from him, this time with Henrik Lundqvist! He talks about the upcoming season, his summer injury, and more. We’ll have another with Lias Andersson later this week as well. Enjoy.

A surprise visit at Frölunda HC's practice today was none other than Henrik Lundqvist of the New York Rangers. He did practice in his new gear, including the Bauer pads with the Statue of Liberty on them. When asked by Johan Rylander of the Gothenburg Post Lundqvist mentioned that the design team and him have had a few exchanges about the ideas, but that he was pleased with the outcome.

Lundqvist participated in all activities at practice, there was no visible problems with lateral or vertical movement at any time. He was also talking a lot with another New York Ranger, Lias Andersson who is preparing for the next step in his career.

Lundqvist was gracious enough to give us an interview between his practices as he stayed to participate with the NHL contingent that includes the John Klingberg, Anton Blidh to mention a few. Lundqvist speaks about the recovery and the start of the season for him with practices in Gothenburg and he of course speaks a bit about Lias Andersson and his role as a mentor for the next Ranger from Sweden.
