Boston Bruins @ New York Rangers: Heave, Ho Five in a Row?

It’s the Rangers first national game of the year as they take on the Boston Bruins at MSG tonight, so everyone brush up on your minor midgets and Minnesota area high school teams!

The Rangers come into this matchup with Bruins on a bit of a roll, having won their last 4 games in a row and are showing signs of…something during those four wins. Meanwhile, the Bruins are bit banged up and have alternated wins and losses as the calendar has turned from October to November.

The Rangers lineup remains the same from their 5-3 win against the Blue Jackets on Monday, which means more Steve Kampfer and Paul Carey until AV decides to bench them mid way through the 2nd period for assorted reasons that are known only to the head coach and possibly the Oracle of Delphi.

One thing to look out for tonight; the Rangers power play has been their saving grace throughout this 4 game win streak and while that is a really weird thing to say, it also highlights how much the Rangers are struggling to score goals when everyone has the same number of players on ice. There are signs that things will turn around, KZB has been such a great line that eventually those power play goals will become even strength goals and if AV can keep it together, the 2nd line of Rick Nash, Kevin Hayes, and Mats Zuccarello has a chance to create some nifty offense.

Remember that the game starts at 8:00 PM…ish, be kind to each other, and enjoy the game!
