Breaking News: Wojtek Wolski Out 4 Weeks For Sports Hernia

The New York Rangers announced today that forward Wojtek Wolski will be out up to four weeks, due to a sports hernia. Wolski visited a specialist in Philadelphia yesterday, and is scheduled to have surgery tomorrow afternoon. Woslki has been having constant injuries to his groin, since the season has begun.

He registered a total of two assists in six total games this season for the Rangers. He spent most of the time sidelined with a nagging groin injury. The Rangers have already placed Wolski on the IR, and another forward is expected to be re-called in his presence.

Expected to be Sidelined Four Weeks

New York, November 7, 2011 – New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that forward Wojtek Wolski will undergo surgery tomorrow to repair a sports hernia, and is expected to be sidelined four weeks. The procedure will be performed by Dr. William Meyers at Core Performance Physicians in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Wolski has registered two assists in six games this season. He has missed six games due to injury, including each of the last two contests. The seven-year veteran is currently one game shy of his 400th career NHL appearance, and nine goals from 100 career NHL goals.
