Center or Wing: Where Should Mika Zibanejad Play This Season?
DJ Z-Bad isn’t going to be traded. So where should he play?

OK, let’s first make clear what this column is not going to be about: We are not talking about whether or not Mika Zibanejad should be on the team. He’s here. He’s not going anywhere. Mike Sullivan clearly believes that he can get the best out of Mika. And even if he didn’t, Mika doesn’t (at this time) want to waive his no-movement clause to facilitate a trade. We’re also not going to talk about what went wrong with Mika, as that would almost certainly result in a lot of TL;DR comments. This is going to be about looking forward.
Got it? Good!
So, with that out of the way, the question about where to play Mika is still a solid and debatable point.
Last year was—easily—Mika’s most frustrating season as a member of the New York Rangers. His play was uninspired, his attitude gave off the appearance of a general malaise, and the results weren’t there.
But wait! There’s more to the story.
