Derek Stepan Takes Hit to the Head

Zack Smith delivers a hit to the head of Derek Stepan.

In the second period of the Rangers/Senators game, Zack Smith delivered a late, high hit to Derek Stepan that appeared to make contact with Stepan's head.

After the hit, Chris Kreider stepped in and fought Smith. Kreider was given a minor penalty for instigating, major penalty for fighting, and a 10-minute misconduct. Smith was only given a minor penalty for interference and a major for fighting.

Stepan initially left the bench after the hit, however he has returned for the third period.
