Drury Played With a Broken Hand

Drury, who sustained a non-displaced fracture when hit by a shot, missed the season finale in Philadelphia then the opening game against the Caps. He returned, but with now understandable limited effectiveness -- unable to shoot or pass with authority, unable to play a hard game.

Once again the Rangers captain goes unapreciated. Gutting it out and playing with a broken hand is very admirable and something that a good Captain is expected to do. Don't forget, last year Drury played with broken ribs against the Penguins.

"It was frustrating, obviously and losing this series is obviously frustrating and disappointing, and maybe it hasn't all sunk in yet.

The fans who dislike Drury because they feel his quiet demeanor is an ill fit for a captaincy position can say what they want. But in the end, all that really matters is the respect Drury has from his teammates in his locker room. He may not be Mark Messier, but then again there is only one Mark Messier.

Let Chris Drury be Chris Drury Ranger fans.
