Fix-Wolansky, Roobroeck Lead Wolf Pack Past Bruins 5-2
Three point nights from Trey Fix-Wolansky and Dylan Roobroeck helped the Wolf Pack knock off the top team in the Eastern Conference.
The Hartford Wolf Pack concluded their second three-in-three weekend of the campaign on Sunday afternoon. They visited Providence for a matinee matchup against the Bruins.
The Wolf Pack exploded for three goals in the opening frame and never looked back. They eventually cruised to a 5-2 win over the top team in the Eastern Conference.
If It Ain't Broke, Trey Fix It
The Wolf Pack opened the scoring just over four minutes into the contest. Dylan Garand settled a tumbling puck and played it to the Hartford blue line. Victor Söderström couldn't settle it, allowing Trey Fix-Wolansky to corral the puck and speed on a breakaway. Fix-Wolansky's initial shot was denied by Michael DiPietro, but the forward collected his own rebound and stuffed it by the outstretched pad of the Providence netminder to give the Wolf Pack the game's first lead.

The goal was Fix-Wolansky's team-leading 17th of the campaign. The assist was Garand's third helper of the campaign and his first primary assist as a professional.
Why You Gotta Be So Roobs
The Wolf Pack doubled the lead just over seven minutes later. Adam Sýkora gloved down a high puck behind the Providence net and found Case McCarthy at the point. The second-year defenseman fired a shot that DiPietro turned aside, and Sýkora's second chance bid clipped the crossbar and went sky high. Dylan Roobroeck waited for it to get below the bar and batted it by DiPietro, putting the Wolf Pack up by two.

The goal was Roobroeck's ninth of the campaign, while McCarthy picked up his first point of the year with the helper.
Back-to-Back Brandon
The Wolf Pack made it a three-goal period two minutes later. Roobroeck threw a pass across the ice to Fix-Wolansky, who tapped a feed to Brandon Scanlin at the blue line. Scanlin snapped a shot on net that grazed a Bruin and went tumbling past DiPietro to triple the lead.

The goal was Scanlin's third of the season, as well as his second in as many nights, and it gave the Wolf Pack a 3-0 lead heading into the first intermission.
Sýky Stuffs it Home
The Wolf Pack found their largest lead of the night just 1:37 into the second period. Sýkora forced a turnover in the right-wing corner of the Providence zone and slipped the puck to Roobroeck. The towering center fired a quick shot that DiPietro turned aside, but Sýkora pushed the rebound past the pad and into the net to put the Wolf Pack up by four.

The goal was Sýkora's eighth of the campaign and gave him a multi-point night. With the assist, Roobroeck earned his first three-point night of the season and the second of his career.
However, Providence would finally strike just two minutes later. Patrick Brown picked off an errant pass in the slot and ripped a shot past Garand to get the home side on the board. However, neither team could find the net again in the frame, and the Wolf Pack eventually took the 4-1 lead into the second intermission.
Wolan-See You Later, Providence
Söderström brought the home side back within two, letting a long shot go from the top of the right wing circle that found the back of the net.
However, that would be as close as the Bruins would get.
A late tripping call against Riley Duran gave the Wolf Pack a power play bid with just over five minutes to play. Derrick Pouliot kept the puck in the offensive zone at the left point and swung it to Fix-Wolansky at the right point. Fix-Wolansky let the puck carom off the wall before winding up and unleashing a howitzer that breezed past DiPietro and into the net.

The goal was Fix-Wolansky's 18th of the campaign and his second of the night. It was Fix-Wolansky's third time scoring multiple goals in a game this season.
The Wolf Pack cruised from there, eventually earning a 5-2 victory.
This result, combined with a 4-0 Bridgeport loss to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, puts the Wolf Pack just five points back of the sixth and final playoff spot in the Atlantic Division with a game in hand.
