The New York Rangers are finishing their west coast tour tonight against the Seattle Kraken, where they will see some familiar faces. Former second overall pick Kaapo Kakko will make his season debut, and Ryan Lindgren will be paired with Brandon Montour. A victory tonight would mean three consecutive wins for the Blueshirts, something they have not done all season.
Head coach Mike Sullivan will be deploying the same lines that finished the game against the Edmonton Oilers. This includes a first line consisting of Artemi Panarin, J.T. Miller, and Mika Zibanejad. The second line will feature Will Cuylle, Noah Laba, and Alexis Lafrenière. Connor Sheary will move down to the third line with Juuso Parssinen centering it, and the fourth line will remain the same.
Player to Watch: Noah Laba
Noah Laba will get his first chance to play a full game as a part of the top six. Against the Oilers, Laba, Cuylle, and Lafrenière looked to be an effective line and will get another shot together tonight. Laba brings an element of speed that is lacking in the rest of the team.
Thus far, Laba has registered one goal and two assists through 12 games. With a promotion to the top six, he will have more opportunities to score. Laba was not on the radar of many Rangers fans before the start of the season but continues to impress.
Enjoy the game!
