We're back at Madison Square Garden as the Rangers will take on their in-division rivals, the Philadelphia Flyers. The Blueshirts are fresh off an overtime victory against the St. Louis Blues and need to carry over that juice into today's game. The Flyers currently sit two points ahead of the Rangers with three games in hand.
Artemi Panarin will likely return to the lineup after missing the previous game with an illness. Igor Shesterkin is expected to get the start in net and will look to have a similar performance as his game in St. Louis. For the Flyers, Tyson Foerster remains out with an upper-body injury and will not suit up against the Rangers.
Player to Watch: Matthew Robertson
Despite starting the season as the seventh defenseman, Matthew Robertson earned a spot on the bottom pair and continues to play well. When on the ice together, he and Scott Morrow do a good job of generating offense from the blue line. As Adam Fox gets closer to a return, the Rangers still need all they can get from their other defenseman.
Robertson remains a valuable asset on defense, contributing three points in his past four games. Aside from Fox, Robertson is tied for the most points on the team. If the Blueshirts come away with a rare win on home ice, they are going to need a positive performance from the young defenseman.
Enjoy the game!
