It's the second installment in the Battle of New York between the New York Rangers and the New York Islanders. The Islanders got the better of the Blueshirts in their first matchup, winning 5-0. However, the Rangers will look to carry the momentum over from a strong victory over the Washington Capitals. The Islanders are trying to make it two in a row after defeating the New Jersey Devils in their last outing.

The Rangers' lines will look the same as they did in Washington, with Igor Shesterkin getting the start in net. The Islanders won't have Shesterkin's countryman, Ilya Sorokin, in net as he battles a lower-body injury. Kyle Palmieri and Alexander Romanov also will not play in tonight's game, with Palmieri being done for the season.

National Broadcast: ESPN+

Player to Watch: Alexis Lafrenière

Alexis Lafrenière found his 100th career goal in the team's victory against Washington. The light seems to be dimming on Lafrenière, and with the uncertainty surrounding the remainder of the season, head coach Mike Sullivan needs to evaluate if he fits his long-term plan.

Lafrenière has been playing strong defensively, taking a massive step forward in that part of his game, but can't seem to put everything together offensively. Time is running out for the former first overall pick to prove if he belongs.
