Game #44: New York Rangers vs St. Louis Blues Open Thread

After a successful two game homestand earlier this week, the Rangers are in St. Louis to take on the defending Stanley Cup champion Blues. David Quinn’s squad is in search of their first regulation victory away from home since December 12th, and it’ll take a 60:00 effort to accomplish that against Colton Parayko, Jordan Binnington, and the rest of the reigning world champions.

As the playoff picture begins to come into focus, every point becomes more and more critical. Earning two points tonight, a game where the Blueshirts don’t have much more than a puncher’s chance, would go a long way towards inching closer into the playoff picture.

Player to Watch: Chris Kreider

Certain players just tend to have their way with certain teams. Sometimes it’s dominant players like Alex Ovechkin having Henrik Lundqvist’s number, and sometimes it’s random bookmarks like Blake Comeau scoring against the Blueshirts as often as the likes of Ovechkin, Crosby, and Malkin.

That’s the relationship Chris Kreider has with the St. Louis Blues, specifically when his team travels to St. Louis. In five career games at the Scottrade Center, Kreider has posted a stat line of 3-5-8. He’s scored at least point in all five games, and has had three-multi point efforts.
