Two struggling teams go head-to-head tonight as the Ottawa Senators travel to Madison Square Garden to take on the New York Rangers. The Rangers are coming off a loss to the Seattle Kraken, while the Senators have lost four of their last five. Tonight presents an opportunity for one team to take a step in the right direction.
The Rangers plan on rolling out the same lineup as they did in their last game, with Jonathan Quick slated to make his fourth consecutive start. Alexis Lafrenière will remain on the third line with Noah Laba and Brennan Othmann. The Blueshirts are still without some of their top players, including Adam Fox and Igor Shesterkin.
Where to Watch
Cable/Network TV: MSG 2, NHL website, NHL app, and the Gotham Sports app
National Broadcast: ESPN+
Radio: 1050 AM
Player to Watch: Sam Carrick
I don't think you can ask for a better cheap fourth-line center than Sam Carrick. He has been solid defensively on the ice, gets involved on offense every now and again, and isn't scared to stick up for his teammates. Carrick is the type of player that contending teams are looking to add as we pass the halfway point of the season.
Carrick's days with the Rangers may be numbered as his trade value might become to high for the team to ignore. While he was brought into a team that was looking to win the Stanley Cup and that hasn't been the case, he has done everything he has been asked of him.
Enjoy the game!
