Tonight marks the start of back-to-back matchups of the Battle of New York, and the Rangers are feeling good following an overtime victory against the Boston Bruins. However, the New York Islanders have brought their best game each of the previous two times these teams played, shutting out the Rangers on both occasions.

Artemi Panarin will not play tonight and is being held out for roster managment purposes. Former Ranger Carson Soucy is expected to make his Islanders debut along with Ondrej Palat, who just got traded by the New Jersey Devils. David Rittich is expected to get the start between the pipes for the Islanders, and Ryan Pulock has a chance to return to the lineup.

Where to Watch

Cable/Network TV: TNT

National Broadcast: TNT App

Radio: 1050 AM

Player to Watch: Gabe Perreault

The retool is underway and with veteran players on their way out the door, it's time for the kids to make a name for themselves. Gabe Perreault has already started to do that and showcased that with a nice pass on J.T. Miller's goal against the Bruins.

As Perreault continues to find his game, he shows promise that he can become the highly decorated prospect the Blueshirts drafted in 2023. On the other hand, if Perreault can't grow into a top line or top six player, the Rangers' current plans may start to look more like a rebuild than management desires.
