Game #7: New York Rangers vs Buffalo Sabres Open Thread

After coming up short and extending their losing streak to four games two nights ago, the Rangers are back in action tonight. The Buffalo Sabres turned a 2-1 deficit at the first intermission into a 3-2 victory by the time the final buzzer sounded, and the Blueshirts will look to avoid a repeat of that incident tonight.

While the rest of the teams in the East Division have won three or more games each, David Quinn’s squad has yet to find their second win of the young season. While the team has kept things close to the tune of three one goal regulation losses and a shootout defeat, close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. Another loss could send the Rangers into a spiral they may not be capable of overcoming over the course of the shortened season.

Player to Watch: Alexis Lafreniere

Six games into his professional career, the first overall selection of the 2020 Entry Draft has yet to find the score sheet. After watching K’Andre Miller tally his first NHL goal two nights ago, look for Lafreniere to be active tonight and notch his first point.

Enjoy the game!
