It'll be the first of many games without Igor Shesterkin for the New York Rangers, but the season is young, and there is plenty of hockey left to play. The Rangers are coming off a 3-1 loss against the Washington Capitals, while the Vancouver Canucks have lost their last three games.
The Rangers have made one change to their top six, switching Pavel Dorofeyev and Alexis Lafrenière. Dylan Garand will play between the pipes, and Spencer Martin will serve as the backup. Former Ranger Filip Chytil remains on injured reserve, and goaltender Kevin Lankinen will start for the Canucks.
Where to Watch
Cable/Network TV: MSG Network, NHL website, NHL app, and DAZN
National Broadcast: ESPN+
Radio: 880 AM
Player to Watch: Alexis Lafrenière
Lafrenière has four goals, two assists, and six points in as many games continuing his strong play since players returned from the Olympics. The change was made to help get Dorofeyev going, who has one goal and two assists so far. Lafrenière will play with J.T. Miller and Tye Kartye but most importantly is still on the top power play unit.

I understand the concern of breaking up a line that was working well together, but I see the benefit in it. Dorofeyev needs to play with someone who can get him the puck, like Gabe Perreault, while the old second line did not have anyone who could transition the puck, like Lafrenière.
Enjoy the game!
