Both the New York Rangers and the Washington Capitals won the first of their back-to-backs, but only one of them can win both. The Rangers are coming off a 4-1 victory against the Detroit Red Wings, which featured Gabe Perreault's first NHL hat trick. The Capitals cruised past the Buffalo Sabres, beating them 6-2. Today is a big game for the Capitals, who sit outside the current playoff picture.
The Rangers will continue to roll with the same lineup they have used in their last few games. Igor Shesterkin will get the start while Jonathan Quick will serve as his backup. Capitals forward Aliaksei Protas returned to the lineup against the Sabres and will play again against New York.
Where to Watch:
Cable/Network TV: ESPN
National Broadcast: ESPN+
Radio: 1050 AM
Player to Watch: Braden Schneider
Including this game, the Blueshirts only have five games remaining, and Braden Schneider's future remains uncertain. The pending restricted free agent has struggled to find his spot in the lineup. Whether it be trying to play him on his offside and move him to the second pair or keep it on his preferred side, his performance remains lackluster.

When it came out last season Schneider had continually battled through a torn labrum; back, many had hoped that was what was holding him back but that has not been the case.
